Vanity Fair passes the hat for Mondoweiss

I.e., their columnist James Wolcott passes the hat for a zealous purveyor of one-statism-sliding-into-antisemitism (funded mostly by the Nation magazine). Here’s Wolcott’s seal of approval:

Named after its founder Phillip Weiss, Mondoweiss (co-maintained by Adam Horowitz) is one of the most invaluable sites in the blogosphere, a blast of sanity and moral suasion against the prevailing demonization of anything and anyone perceived as anti-Israel. (Here is its mission statement.) Whether it’s the demolition of Palestinian homes to make room for Israeli settlers, Harvard’s honoring of Martin Peretz, the usual suspects laying down a drum track for military strikes against Iran, or the plight of Gaza, Mondoweiss covers it all within the sweep of its lighthouse beam.

For Wolcott, does identifying the danger of Jewish-Christian miscegenation among political elites count as “shining the lighthouse beam”?

Mondoweiss is holding a fundraiser and is one quarter shy of its modest goal and needs–especially modest when you consider how much money is being shoveled by conservative donors into a shiny latrine such as RightNetwork–so why not consider making a donation?

I donated a small amount last week, so it’s not like I’m asking you to contribute while my wallet sits tight, locked inside Jack Benny’s underground vault. (A reference probably lost on many younger readers, who lie awake at night trying to imagine the riches of embarrassment Jackass 3D will hold.)

Riches of embarrassment, he says.
